Toshiba Tecra A10 15.4 Inch Business Laptop

Toshiba has introduced the Tecra A10 notebook for business users. The 15.4-inch laptop features Intel Centrino 2 technology and the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M graphics card with 256MB of dedicated video memory. Other features include a built-in web camera, the Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100AGN wireless module, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and 56k modem connections, three USB ports, an additional USB/eSATA port with Sleep-and-Charge functionality, DVI-D and VGA video outputs, Serial and Firewire ports, a PC Card slot, and 6-in-1 media card reader. Toshiba keeps 'em coming with Tecra R10 / Portege A600

Toshiba’s new bounty is all but out there, but we’ve still got two more to bring you before the onslaught is over. Up first is the business-minded Tecra R10 (shown after the break), which shows vitals of 4.4-pounds and 1.13-inches thick. It also provides upwards of 5-hours of battery life on a single charge, an Intel Centrino 2 CPU, NVIDIA’s 128MB Quadro NVS GPU, 14.1-inch LED-backlit display, ExpressCard slot, USB Sleep-and-Charge / eSATA combo port and a price tag starting at $1,549. On deck, we’ve got the 12.1-inch Portégé A600, which offers up a Centrino 2 processor and 7.5-hours of claimed battery life while weighing just 3.2-pounds and measuring 1.18-inches thick. As with the rest, this one’s ready to be ordered right this moment starting at $1,399.

Toshiba intros four new Portege machines, Tecra R10

The last Portégé we saw flow from Toshiba’s doors was a revamped R500 in July, but now we know why we’ve been waiting so long for a true new member of the family. Clearly, Tosh has been shoring ‘em up, waiting for this day to arrive when it would introduce four newcomers in one fell swoop. Starting us off is the ultrathin Portégé R600, which packs your choice of a Core 2 Duo CPU, 2.14-pound shell, a battery good for nine hours and a price tag ranging between $1,499 and $3,299. The Portégé A600 includes most of the same specs along with a GMA X4500 graphics controller and a more pedestrian price; the Portégé M750 Tablet PC adds in that always-exciting swivel action for those who care. Lastly, we’ve got the Tecra R10, which features a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo SP9400, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, 200GB 7,200 RPM hard drive, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M GPU and an MSRP of $1,999. No word on when these will head south to the US, but Canadians should be able to indulge soon enough.

Priced at $1,400, Toshiba’s new Tecra M8 laptop comes with a small 13.3-inch screen TruBite LCD that offers better color, contrast, and overall quality when being compared to other displays. The laptop features 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7100, 1GB of RAM, 120GB of storage capacity, a DVD SuperMulti, and a built-in 1.3MP webcam with microphone. It also sports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (with Enhanced Data Rate). Its graphics card is powered by Intel and their Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100.

This 5.2 pound laptop packs with a 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo T2400 processor, 512MB of memory, 100GB HDD, 128MB of NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M graphics, 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (optional), and 14.1 inch XGA display into a 5.4 pound package. The Tecra M5 scored 236 on MobileMark 2005, besting the HP Compaq nc6400’s score of 219 by about eight percent. This is on a par with other systems we’ve tested with this processor. Runtime from the Tecra M5’s standard six-cell battery hovered right around 3.5 hours with Wi-Fi on or off. That’s a little below average, but Toshiba sells a 12-cell power pack ($71.99) that should deliver all-day battery life. The 3DMark03 score of 3,340 is impressive for a business notebook this size, which means this system should be able to handle Windows Vista’s Aero graphics with ease, not to mention 3D games at lower resolutions.

Toshiba has released Tecra M6-ST3412 which packs with Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology, 256MB PC4200 DDR2 533MHz SDRAM, a DVD SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) drive which is able to read up to 11 formats, and the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with 8MB-128MB dynamically allocated shared graphics. This 4.1 lbs notebook has dimensions like 299.0 mm x 225.0 mm x 34.0mm and has battery life of five hours. It also features the Toshiba exclusive EasyGuard™ Technology that helps safeguard your confidential data. The combination of the Trusted Platform Module, Biometric Fingerprint reader and Toshiba Security Assist Console provides a vault-like security system that is extremely robust yet simple to manage.
