Toshiba intros four new Portege machines, Tecra R10

The last Portégé we saw flow from Toshiba’s doors was a revamped R500 in July, but now we know why we’ve been waiting so long for a true new member of the family. Clearly, Tosh has been shoring ‘em up, waiting for this day to arrive when it would introduce four newcomers in one fell swoop. Starting us off is the ultrathin Portégé R600, which packs your choice of a Core 2 Duo CPU, 2.14-pound shell, a battery good for nine hours and a price tag ranging between $1,499 and $3,299. The Portégé A600 includes most of the same specs along with a GMA X4500 graphics controller and a more pedestrian price; the Portégé M750 Tablet PC adds in that always-exciting swivel action for those who care. Lastly, we’ve got the Tecra R10, which features a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo SP9400, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, 200GB 7,200 RPM hard drive, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M GPU and an MSRP of $1,999. No word on when these will head south to the US, but Canadians should be able to indulge soon enough.

Fujitsu's Stylistic ST6010 Tablet PC

Surely you recall that Stylistic ST6012 tablet PC that quietly surfaced on Fujitsu-Siemens’ website late last month, right? Good. Now, do yourself a favor and check out what’s likely the US version of that: Fujitsu’s Stylistic ST6010. Said tablet has just dropped by the FCC’s database, complete with a user manual, an ID label, a litany of test reports and a collection of those heralded FCC photographs taken with what appears to be a 0.03-megapixel webcam from 2001. Unfortunately, the details we crave the most — finalized specifications, a price and a release date — are expectedly missing, but at least tablet lovers camped out in America can get amped up for this to arrive in short order.

Gigabyte M912X

A fellow named Stuart Lowe installed Leopard on his Gigabyte M912X netbook / tablet hybrid, and we like the results. Though this isn’t the first Mac tablet hack, it’s a tightly wrapped little package: the interface seems smooth with either fingers or a stylus, and Inkwell’s onscreen keyboard allows complete functionality when the computer is folded into its slate configuration. Much of the necessary software functionality existed in Leopard already, and since installing OS X on something other than a Mac isn’t the challenge it used to be, we’re envisioning a pretty smooth ride for other would-be-hackers. Lenovo Thinkpad X200t Tablet PC

Here is a new tablet PC from Lenovo. The Thinkpad X200t comes in either 12.2 inch WideView MultiTouch LED Backlight or WideView Superbright LED Backlight or WideView Standard WXGA Panel. You can choose between a 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300, 1.6GHz SL9300 or 1.86GHz SL9400 CPUs. The tablet PC also offers up to 4GB of Memory, a choice of 128GB of SSD or 320GB of 5400rpm HDD or 200GB of 7200rpm HDD. For the connectivity, the X200t supports WiFi, WiMAX (Optional), WWAN (with GPS), Blu-Ray disc Drive, three USB ports and 4 cells or 8 cells battery. The Lenovo Thinkpad X200t will be released in October 2008. No info on pricing so far. [Akihabara]

The Quaduro Quadpad E84 has an 8.4″ touchscreen display and uses an 8GB CompactFlash card to store data. The Quaduro E84 features a 1GHz Intel Celeron M processor with 1GB of RAM, while graphics are powered by a 64MB nVidia chip. Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 Tablet PC

Fujitsu’s LifeBook T5010 tablet PC is powered by Intel’s Centrino 2 “Montevina” mobile platform, a 13.3 inch LED Backlit Active Digitizer display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, 45nm Intel Core 2 processor, 2GB of DDR3 system memory, Intel integrated graphics processor, 120GB hard drive, a built-in DVD burner, 802.11 a/g/n wireless module and Bluetooth connectivity. The tablet PC also features a fingerprint reader to secure your sensitive data. The T5010 will be available this August for $1,099, depending on the specs. [Laptoping]

The Tablet PC Stand/Dock allows for swivel, rotation, tilt orientations and height adjustment. The stand also contains power, multiple USB, audio in/out, keyboard, and mouse connections. The new HP Pavilion tx2500z tablet PC has been released. The tablet comes equipped with a 12.1 inch 1,280 × 800 touch screen display, AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM processor, ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics, up to 4GB DDR2 RAM, 320GB hard drive, WiFi, DVD burner, optional Bluetooth and fingerprint scanner. Albatron Rocker Tablet PC at Computex 2008

Here is the Albatron Rocker tablet PC which is powered by Windows Embedded CE 5.0 operating system. Measuring 188.3mm x 113.2mm x 12.9mm, the tablet features ARM 9 400Mhz processor with 128MB RAM, 7 inch LCD touch screen display @ 800 x 480 resolution, 128MB NAND flash memory, SD/MMC memory card slot and Wi-Fi connectivity. Korean manufacturer Ripple has released its new DIY tablet PC known as the TN120R. The gadget features 12.1 inch LCD display at 1,280 x 800 resolution, Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1GHz processor, 120GB hard drive, 1GB RAM and DVD Multi Burner. No info on pricing so far. [UberGizmo]

NEC ShieldPRO FC-N22A Tablet PC

What makes the NEC ShieldPRO FC-N22A Tablet PC special is that it is able to work perfectly under extreme conditions (-20 to over 50 degrees Celsius). The tablet PC supports IP55 requirements compliance and is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 1.06GHz processor, 12.1 inch display with LED backlight and brightness level of 750cd/m2 (XGA resolution), 512MB RAM (upgradeable up to 4GB) and touch screen functionality. Upcoming Fujitsu’s New Tablet PC

HP Pavilion tx2000 Tablet PC

HP is going to be showcasing the TX2000 tablet pc at the CES as well. It comes wirh the outfit’s QuickPlay software, a webcam ,an integrated microphone, Pavilion HDX, a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS graphics set, an optional Core 2 Extreme processor, Blu-ray / HD DVD support and a 20.1-inch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) XHD Ultra Brightview display along with four Altec Lansing speakers and a built-in “subwoofer,” an eSATA port, hybrid analog / digital TV tuner, room for two HDDs and a media remote. HP wants about $1299 for this tablet. Not a bad buy.
